Fast-Krete Frequently Asked Questions
QUESTION: What is FAST-KRETE? ANSWER: FAST-KRETE is an all weather, fast setting, easy to use instant action concrete patch. Makes repairs stronger than surrounding concrete. QUESTION: Where can FAST-KRETE be used? ANSWER: FAST-KRETE can be used indoor or out for patching floors, sidewalks, loading docks, stairs and ramps. QUESTION: How long will FAST-KRETE last? ANSWER: Since it's stronger than ordinary concrete, the surrounding area will deteriorate faster than the actual patch made with FAST-KRETE. QUESTION: Is FAST-KRETE easy to use? ANSWER: Yes - just add water to proper consistency. Comes ready to use. QUESTION: What about storage? ANSWER: No problem. Excellent shelf-life; the shelf-life is indefinite as long as the container is closed airtight. QUESTION: How long after application can the area be opened to traffic? ANSWER: Under normal circumstances, FAST-KRETE is traffic-ready in 45 minutes. QUESTION: Is FAST-KRETE recommended for spalled or areas to be resurfaced? ANSWER: No - for patching of holes only. The hole must have vertical walls so the material will "bite". Cannot be feather-edged. QUESTION: Are there any special tools or equipment needed? ANSWER: Just a trowel and bucket for mixing is all that are needed. QUESTION: Is FAST-KRETE affected by temperature? ANSWER: No - FAST-KRETE sets up and hardens fast, even under humid, damp or freezing conditions. QUESTION: Is FAST-KRETE chemical resistant? ANSWER: Yes - tests have proven FAST-KRETE to be chemical and acid resistant in all areas where concrete is usually found. QUESTION: Will FAST-KRETE seal hairline cracks? ANSWER: No - as we said before, FAST-KRETE must have vertical walls as expansion of FAST-KRETE takes place during curing to "lock-in" repair.
